Founded in 2002, Scent-Sations, Inc. is a direct sales company manufacturing gourmet, natural-ingredient candles. Scent-sations is based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but has independent distributors throughout the US and Canada. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau Online Reliability Program.
Mia Bella Gourmet Candles are a cleaner-burning, healthier alternative to regular candles. They are triple scented, have no toxins, and are virtually soot-free (no yucky black stuff around the jars). We also offer a variety of natural ingredient hand, foot and body products.
Scent-Sations stands out from many other Direct Sales companies because of the low startup cost (less than $50), providing a quality product that already has a market in most U.S. households, as well as the incredible company and team support. The 50% profit margin enjoyed by most distributors is GREAT too! These candles have been described as "the best performing candles in the world."
How long have you been with this company?
I have been an independent distributor with Scent-Sations since September 2005.
What are the sales quotas?
That's the best part -- there are NO sales quotas. You do as little or as much as you want. The minimum requirement to be a Mia Bella distributor is $39.95 (plus tax and shipping) per month for the Candle of the Month Program. That is not a FEE, but actually represents product you receive. In the Candle of the Month Program, you will receive your own company website (where your customers can order from your online store), 1 16oz. jar candle, 12 votive candles, 1 soy body bar, and free training!
How do I start with this company?
Starting with Scent-Sations is easy. You can visit my company website (just like yours would look like) at www.RelaxWithMia.com and click on "Join". Then proceed to the online registration for Candle of the Month Program. That's all there is to it, and you can stop at any time just be contacting the company. When you join, there are a few options to save you some money and get you started right away. You can either opt for the basic Candle of the Month, the Sample Pack or the Fast Start Pack (the best deal). When you click on "Join", scroll down and it will show you the cost and contents of each of these packages.
What are the shipping times?
Scent-Sations used UPS as its carrier. Distributors may place orders by phone or from their back office on their very own website. Orders are generally shipped within 24-48 hours of being placed. You will be provided with a UPS tracking number in your back office, so you can see when to expect your "goodies". Those living in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area are free to stop by the company and pick up any orders to avoid shipping charges.
Does the company dropship?
Yes, Scent-Sations will dropship an order for you. Also, when you join the Candle of the Month Program, customers can go to your website and order from you online, and the company will ship the product directly to your customers -- while you still earn a commission!
What is the commission structure?
Commissions are paid monthly to qualified distributors through direct deposit into your bank account. Commissions are paid through 6 levels, with the 1st level being a 10% commission of your team's commisionable sales volume. The 2nd-5th levels are paid at 5%, and the 6th level rewards you again at 10%. A bonus pool for top leaders is also available. You can also put cash in your pocket daily simply by retailing your Candle of the Month products. Additionally, distributors enjoy considerable savings on their products by ordering wholesale and selling at retail. As an example, the suggested retail of the 16oz. jar candle is $18.95, but a distributor's cost is $9.50, about a 50% profit margin.
How am I paid?
Commissions are paid monthly by direct deposit to a qualifying consultant's bank account. Additionally, you are able to earn money daily when your customers purchase the candles at wholesales prices, and you sell them at retail prices. As an example, when I pay $9.50 each for a case of 6 jar candles ($57), and sell those 6 jar candles for the suggested retail price of $18.95 each ($113.70), my profit from that case of 6 jars would be approximately $56.70 (not including any taxes and shipping).
You can also earn income through doing home parties, working with fundraising groups to sell your candles while BOTH of you earn a profit, as well as residual income through team building.
Are "company websites" available?
A company website is INCLUDED in the cost of the Candle of the Month Program. Your website even comes with an online retail store where your family, friends, and other customers can purchase from you even if they live on the other side of the country.
Can I design my own website?
Yes, you are able to have your own personal website. However, some restrictions do apply.
Where can I sell?
No selling is permitted on Ebay or other online auctions. However, you are able to advertise your online store through message boards, chat rooms, and numerous internet sites. You are also able to sell at craft fairs, vendor fairs, bridal shows, local markets, etc. Your choices are endless.
Does this company offer fundraisers?
This company STARTED as a fundraiser. One of the three ways a distributor can earn income with Scent-Sations is through offering our candles and/or body products to various fundraising groups. You sell to the group at a lower price, which allows them to sell the products and earn a profit also. While it is entirely up to the individual distributor how to price his or her products, most Mia Bella fundraising groups earn a minimum of $6 per jar sold.
Are training tools available?
Numerous training tools are available and ongoing. Not only is there a company New Distributor training call each Saturday, but numerous company training calls and team training calls are held throughout the week, each week. There is no requirement to attend any of the training, but it is highly suggested so you will get off on the right foot in building your business. Most of the calls are recorded too, so if you can't attend a particular training call, there is a good chance you can still listen to it on your computer or MP3 player.
There are various Yahoo groups for the team, which come complete with pictures for craft fair ideas, forms to be downloaded and used as you wish, as well as ideas of how to promote your business and purchase inexpensive business supplies. These Yahoo groups provide a great resource to learn from the best -- people who have become Directors, Senior Directors, and Platinum Directors within the company. These team leaders make it their mission to inspire and coach distributors to achieve their own goals. The tools have already been put in place by these leaders, so they are there for us to follow -- or create our own.
The company also provides distributors with the option to purchase a variety of sales aids directly from our own back office. There are company sweatshirts, t-shirts, fundraising forms, mouse pads, drawing boxes, calendars, lanyards, catalogs, business brochures, color business cards, and so much more.
Am I required to hold home parties?
No. While many distributors enjoy holding home parties, and they are a great way to earn instant income, there is no requirement to hold home parties. There are other ways the company provides for its distributors to earn money, such as retailing, fundraisers and team building. One of the greatest aspects of this company is that each distributor can work his or her business to suit THEIR OWN NEEDS, strengths and weaknesses.
